Yes, you can mount outside if they will be covered (such as a covered patio) and not fully exposed to the elements. Direct sun and exposure to rain or snow will damage and degrade the wood over time. If installed on a covered, outdoor setting they will need additional care and maintenance and require re-applying mineral oil on a more frequent basis.
